YouInvest Privacy Policy

YouInvest (package name: com.shalomarputhasingh.youinvest) is a free, fully offline stock-market learning game built by Shalom Arputhasingh. It teaches investing through interactive lessons and a simulated practice market - no real money and no real companies are ever involved. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app does and does not handle. The short version: YouInvest was built privacy-first, and it collects nothing.

YouInvest does not collect, store off-device, or transmit any personal information. There is no account, no sign-up, and no login - so there is simply nowhere in the app to enter personal details. The released app requests no INTERNET permission at all, which means it cannot send any data over the network, even if it wanted to. It runs entirely offline.

Your progress - lessons completed, quiz results, streaks, simulated holdings, and settings - is saved only in local storage on your own device, using an on-device database with a local file fallback. None of it ever leaves your phone. Uninstalling the app, or using "Reset Progress" in Settings, erases this data completely.

YouInvest asks for two permissions, both used strictly on-device: • POST_NOTIFICATIONS - to show the optional daily streak reminder you choose to set. • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - to re-schedule that same local reminder after your phone restarts. Neither permission involves any network activity or data collection.

YouInvest contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that gather data. Nothing you do in the app is profiled, shared, or sold, because nothing is collected in the first place.

Two optional buttons in the app open other apps: "Send Feedback" opens your email app addressed to the developer, and "Rate" opens the app's Google Play listing. YouInvest itself sends no data when you tap these - anything you then choose to type in your email app or on Google Play is handled by those apps under their own privacy policies.

YouInvest is educational and entertainment software with no gambling and no real money, and it is suitable for a general audience, including teens. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is no mechanism by which a child (or anyone else) could submit personal information through the app.

Since nothing is ever sent off your device, there is nothing stored on any server to retain or delete. To remove all app data at any time, use "Reset Progress" in Settings, or simply uninstall the app.

If the app's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Meaningful changes will also be mentioned in the app's update notes.
